When the local design goods retailer Canoe called three years ago, a simple 4-page website turned into a full online store. This time we were prepared. Rebuilt from the ground up, Canoe v2.0 builds on the existing design and remodels the architecture and usability of the site to better serve its visitors and Canoe.
In its final QA and testing phases, Canoe version 2.0 is almost out the door with the launch date set for mid-September. Please note that while the images to the left are of the new site, the link below will take you to the current Canoe site, version 1.0.
Canoe version 2.0 builds on top of the established online presence I helped realize in 2006. Version 2.0 provides as visual refinement on top of the existing visual design system as well as improvements to the overall user experience of the site. The site was rebuilt from the ground up on top of CakePHP and Ligature?an in-house software package developed to support interactive and new media works. Re-architecting and rebuilding the site allowed for new functionality such as wedding registries and user accounts built to support the request of their customer base and places Canoe on platform for rapid feature development in the future.
